A Bethany Durrani Mystery

Is Justice more important than the law?

Adelaide, 1894. Eric Emerson vanished without a trace, draining his bank accounts before disappearing. Four months later, his wife Lydia swears she saw him enter a café—but can anyone else confirm it? Desperate for answers, Lydia turns to Bethany Durrani's Investigation Agency. To date, missing pets and cuckolded spouses are Bethany's usual domain, missing persons is unchartered territory, but when Bethany's mind falls on her mounting debts, she accepts the challenge. Alongside Aunt Faith and retired policeman Harry Fairweather, Bethany uncovers a tangled web of secrets, riddles and hidden motives.

If Eric is still alive, his lover, Anna Hopping, and his close friend, Vincent Stirling, are keeping their silence. But while the hunt for Eric intensifies, another dark threat emerges, someone is targeting Bethany’s young son with plans of abduction.
Set against the backdrop of a nation in economic turmoil and women’s suffrage gaining momentum, 'A Hollow Death' is a pulse-pounding mystery filled with twists, quirky characters, and suspense. Can Bethany uncover the truth before it’s too late?

'A Hollow Death' is the gripping sequel to 'Beyond Goyder’s Line' and can be enjoyed as a standalone novel.
